I'm coming to the end of my degree and I'm trying to decide what to do once I complete it. I obviously have a talent for sculpting, casting and creating props so it would be natural to go into this sector as a career. Yet I am unsure how I would go about breaking into that industry. Working on film, theatre and Tv sets as a prop maker or designer would be amazing!
I am completely in awe of the costumes and props in "The lion king" stage show. Honestly the best show I have ever seen.
Also, I recently discovered therapy robots and feel like I could contribute to this industry by helping to create realistic furs and skins for these animals. A friend also suggested that I watch BBC spy in the wild, and these robots fascinated me. Although quite a few did not look very realistic, I see that my skills could be used for these kind of things!
Another interest of mine is special FX makeup. Including silicone masks and facepainting. So I definitely feel like the film/tv/theatre special effects and props department is where I should be, but how do you prove that you're good enough? And how do you find the jobs in the first place?
