Fully posable one of a kind niffler! Inspired by the niffler in the new fantastic beasts movie, echidnas and platypus.
Due to his cheeky personality and overall cuteness I decided that I needed to make one!
As he is instantly recognisable I thought this would be a challenge for myself to try and make it as true to the film as possible after only seeing the film once, but also trying to keep the original animal influences in mind.
I looked at lots of images of echidnas and platypus to decide how to sculpt his hands, feet and beak. For his body I looked at the teddy bears I have previously made, as the niffler in the films is quite cute and I know there is a corelation between cute and the typical teddy bear body shape.
As with the majority of the art dolls that I make, he is entirely posable. You can turn his wrists and ankles as well as moving his head, legs and arms so that he can stand, sit or lie in different positions. He can also stand unaided. He also has a concealed pocket in his belly (like echidnas and nifflers). Echidnas use these in the same way kangaroos do, to raise their young, but a niffler uses it to store its loot!
